Eligible Albertans can apply for $100 monthly payments starting January 18, 2023

The Alberta Government is rolling out a program, with applications first being accepted January 18, 2023 to help with the rising costs of living. This consists of 6 $100 monthly payments.

Excerpts from their article:

“Eligible Albertans seeking their $100 monthly affordability payments will be able to apply for the payments starting Jan. 18 via a government portal, the province announced Monday.

Applicants will have to have, or sign up for, a verified account, similar to the MyAlberta Digital ID, at Alberta.ca/affordable.

Applicants will need information from their current valid Alberta driver’s license or Alberta ID card to complete the process.

Households with a yearly income of less than $180,000 are eligible for the six $100 affordability payments for each senior and child under the age of 18.

Eligibility will be determined by 2021 tax data and includes “mechanisms in place to determine eligibility before individuals apply,” said Technology and Innovation Minister Nate Glubish.”
