Climate Action Incentive Updates

The Canada Revenue Agency has put out an article outlining changes to the Climate Action Incentive (CAI) for the upcoming year, under the Pollution Pricing system.

In the article they discuss:

  • Increases to the family CAI payments for 2023, received quarterly upon the filing of the 2022 personal income tax return

  • Investment into an Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Grant to help households move to electric heat pumps

  • Farmers will also receive up to 90% of pollution pricing proceeds (currently Ontario, Manitoba, Yukon, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Nunavut) through CAI payments
